Just Kidding
An elderly landlord loved golf. In fact, he played golf nearly every day since his retirement 25 years earlier and had recently turned 90 years old.
One day he arrived home after a round of 18 holes looking depressed. The elderly landlord said to his wife, “That’s it...I’m giving up golf. My eyesight has gotten so bad that once I’ve hit the ball, I can’t see where it went.”
With much sympathy, the elderly landlord’s wife tells him to sit down and she makes him a cup of tea with a piece of cake. As they sit together, she says, “Why don’t you take your older brother with you and give golf one more try?”
“That’s no good,” sighs the elderly landlord. “My older brother is 97. He can’t swing a golf club and he can barely walk.” “That’s true,” says the elderly landlord’s wife, “he may be 97, but his eyesight is perfect like he’s a young man.”
So, the very next day, the elderly landlord heads off to the golf course with his older brother in tow. At the first hole, he tees up, takes an almighty swing, and squints down the fairway. The elderly landlord then turns to his older brother and says, “Did you see the ball?”
The older brother replies, “Of course I did!... I have perfect eyesight.” “So, where did it go?” asks the elderly landlord. The older brother then replies, “I don’t remember.”
