Fraud Alert: Scammers Seeking Quick Money
Recently, I listed a vacant apartment unit on the websites Apartments.com and Zillow.com. However, today someone sent me a copy of a vacancy listing on Craigslist.com offering my same vacant unit, but at a steep discount from the price I was offering, and the fraudulent listing provided a different contact number. This is not the first time this has happened to me.
I suggest to other rental housing providers that have vacancy listings go onto Craigslist.com and search for the address of vacant units and see if their property has been fraudulently listed by someone else. If there is a fraudulent listing, directly above the description of any vacancy listing on Craigslist.com, there is a row of icons, and by selecting the “flag” icon, you can ask Craigslist.com to delete the listing.
