It was a very, very sad day...Rebecca, the landlord’s daughter, sat tearfully at her father’s bedside. Her father, the old landlord, laid in his bed dying.
Just Kidding
In his weakened and frail voice, the landlord said to his daughter, “Don’t cry Rebecca, my time is up and I’m ready.” With that said, the old landlord seemed to become very quiet, and his eyes closed, and Rebecca continued to cry loudly. But then suddenly, the old landlord’s eyes suddenly opened, and he asked his daughter, “Rebecca my dear, what is that delicious aroma I’m smelling?”
Rebecca told her father, “Mama is baking a special chocolate cookies.” The old landlord then said, “I love chocolate cookies, will you get me some?” “Sure papa,” Rebecca told the old landlord, and she then ran out of the room only to return empty handed.
The old landlord, although very weak and challenged to speak, asks Rebecca, “Where’s my cookies, Rebecca?” Rebecca answers, “Mama says you can’t have any... we’re saving the cookies for the wake.”
(Editor’s Note: We hope that you enjoy our Apartment Age jokes. As often told tale goes, “once upon a time,” we lived in a world where people understood and appreciated humor, even dark humor. At one time, people simply remembered how to laugh without someone being insulted. It is our sincere hope that we get that back some day soon. Sometimes what we need is just a good laugh.)
